Who we are
up.ma (“we”, “us”) is an independent recipe website at https://up.ma. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, how we use it and the choices you have. If you have any questions, please contact us through our contact page.
Information we collect
- Visit statistics. When you view a page, we record anonymous statistics: the page viewed, the date, your approximate country (provided by our network provider, Cloudflare, based on your IP address), the website that sent you to us, and whether you use a phone or a computer. We do not store your IP address. To count unique visitors, we create a one-way code from your IP address and browser that changes every day, so it cannot be used to identify you or follow you from one day to the next. This does not use cookies.
- Community posts. When you share a post, we collect the name you enter, your text, your rating, the recipe you chose and any photo you upload. Photos are resized and their hidden metadata, such as location data, is removed. Your post becomes public only after we review it.
- Contact messages. When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address and message so that we can reply to you.
- Spam prevention. When you submit a form, we keep a coded (hashed) version of your IP address for a short time to limit spam and abuse.
Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to show ads on this site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in Europe, at www.youronlinechoices.eu.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for their consent before personalized ads are shown, through a consent message provided by Google.
Apart from advertising, up.ma itself does not use cookies for visitors. One security cookie is used only in our private admin area.
How we use information
- To run the website and show community posts that have been approved.
- To reply to messages you send us.
- To prevent spam, abuse and security problems.
- To understand which pages are popular and which countries our visitors come from, so we can improve the site.
Service providers
Our website is hosted by a web hosting company and delivered through Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up the site and processes technical data such as IP addresses to do so. Google provides advertising, as described above. Our fonts are stored on our own server, so no font service sees your visit. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep information
- Visit statistics: up to 13 months.
- Contact messages: up to 12 months.
- Community posts: until you ask us to remove them, or until we remove them.
- Spam-prevention data: up to 30 days.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your community posts or messages at any time through our contact page. Depending on where you live, for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will respect them.
Children
up.ma is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
